Telegram gift transfer rules: holds, fees and limits

Collectible gifts move between Telegram accounts through Telegram's own transfer feature. A few of its rules affect buying and selling.

Transfer holds

A freshly upgraded or freshly transferred gift may carry a hold before it can move again. Fuji Gift queues the transfer and sends it as soon as Telegram allows — the order page keeps showing "queued" meanwhile.

Transfer fee

Telegram may charge a fee in Stars for transferring a gift that the sender did not upgrade. Fuji Gift pays that fee from its own account; the price on the market already includes delivery.

Privacy

Accounts can restrict who may send them gifts. If the recipient allows gifts only from contacts, the transfer fails until they change the setting. Ask the person before buying a present.

Usernames

A transfer goes to an account, not to a name. Fuji Gift resolves the @username to the account at the moment the order is placed, so a later username change does not redirect the gift.

Blockchain gifts

Gifts that have been withdrawn to the TON blockchain as NFTs are outside Telegram's transfer feature and are not part of the market.
